Plastic gear calculation in KISSsoft

The use of plastic gears is often considered because of their advantages over metal gears. As they have also disadvantages like lower strength and lower manufacturing tolerances, it is important to evaluate exactly the strength and geometry of the gears before going into production. KISSsoft offers special functionalities and contains material data from several manufacturers to perform accurate resistance and lifetime calculations for plastic gears. Have a look at them in this 45 minutes demo.

Highlights in KISSsys-Release 03/2018

    New Features in version 03/2018

    Calculating vibrations

    Contact Pattern Analysis

    Our development engineer Benjamin Mahr shows in 45 minutes the procedure in the contact analysis and how the results are to be interpreted.

    In KISSsoft, the contact analysis modules allow an exact representation of the conditions in the tooth contact of cylindrical gear pairs, planetary gears and bevel gear pairs. Therefor they enable the design and optimization regarding transmission errors and profile and flank line modifications with the aim of minimizing noise and losses and optimizing lifetime.

    Layout process for cylindrical gear pair

    Dr. Eng. Ulrich Kissling – founder and director of KISSsoft AG – will show you in 45 minutes the layout and optimization process for a gear pair. He will start with Rough sizing and add Fine sizing for definition of the macro geometry. Then he will use the Sizing of Modifications embracing the 3 steps flank line modification, compensation of manufacturing errors and tolerances, and last profile modifications. He will close the demo with the final checking of the gear pair.

    Gearbox design step by step

    Eng. Cengiz Yilmaz – KISSsys Product manager and trainer KISSsoft AG - shows how to build up a complete multistage gearbox fast and easy. The load spectrum calculation for all elements in the whole system will follow. He will finish the demonstration with the analysis of the system results which give an overview about the weight, the backlash of the entire system and the moment of inertia of the system.
