Gearbox Design and Analysis

During three days, participants will design a KISSsys model of an existing bevel-cylindrical-planetary transmission of 450 kW. This dimensioning process will include optimising the gears, analysing the strength of shafts and lifetimes of bearings, calculating efficiency and contact analysis.

This special 3-days training course will help participants to understand the essentials of KISSsoft and its add-on KISSsys with focus on modelling & analysing gearboxes. This practical approach will be combined with the theoretical knowledge necessary to make efficient use of the calculation programs.

The training will be held at the Cranfield University on campus Building 90, in Cranfield, UK. The training room is equipped with PCs with the most recent KISSsoft version installed.

Topic: The training course is aimed for engineers working in the field of gearbox calculation and manufacturing. Basic knowledge of KISSsoft and KISSsys is advantageous but not required.

Anyone wishing to join the training but lacking KISSsoft knowledge may ask in advance for a test version with a validity of 30 days in order to familiarise themselves with the KISSsoft user surface and main functionalities. A regional hotel list and Campus map will be provided by KISSsoft.
